Prof. Georg Hackenberg received his MSc in computer science in 2010 from RWTH Aachen University, Germany and his PhD in computer science in 2018 from Technical University of Munich, Germany. From 2006 to 2007 he worked as a software engineer at Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, New Jersey, and from 2016 to 2019 as a senior software engineer, consultant and business unit manager at Concept Reply GmbH, a Reply AG company for the Internet of Things, in Munich, Germany. Since 2014 he runs a small software products and services business for several clients including Infineon Technologies AG.
Since 2019 he has been working as a full professor for industrial informatics at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria in Wels. He worked as project manager and key researcher in several R&D projects including IMoMeSA (VDW #435 Z) and MoDEMAS/MoDEMMiCAS (DFG #222278915). His research interests are in the area of agile methodologies and model-based techniques applied to interdisciplinary settings such as cyber-physical production systems and the Internet of Things.
