After successfully finishing his apprenticeship with a Matura and subsequently becoming an industrial Master in Mechanical Engineering, Ulrich Mitterhuber completed his bachelor's degree in Mechatronics & Business Management at Wels campus with distinction. Due to personal motivation, he became intensively involved in Machine Learning during his bachelor’s studies. He wrote his bachelor's thesis in the SAR research group, where he developed and evaluated deep learning based, real-time methods for semantic segmentation.
He currently studies Robotic Systems Engineering and works in the HOPPER (FFG #873987) and SMARTER research projects where he is responsible for the development of deep learning based methods for computer vision.
His research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence and autonomous robot systems.
