In our robotics lab, robot and sensor systems can be tested against subsets of standard NIST ASTM test methods.

These include a random maze, stairs, simulated victims and some of the proposed manipulation tasks for manipulating gauges and valves. Rescue robots can be tested within arbitrary disaster scenarios, allowing for evaluation of performance and identification of issues before they are involved in realistic and more complex disaster scenarios.
